So many moms love the fall! The pumpkins, football, cooler weather, the beginning of the holiday season. All of that is so much more fun when you have kids! We have such a good time with our Dallas Fort Worth mini sessions and the pumpkins are one of my favorite shoots each year! For some reason, we didn’t do these last year and I really missed it.

Seeing these costumes and smiling morning faces just made my day. These sessions were done at sunrise for the best light and happiest baby moods. The weather was perfect and the light was just right. These kids nailed their shoots! We have to limit the number of mini sessions we take, because once the light gets too strong, it starts to look really bad.
To prepare for this session, Lauren and I go to Trader Joes and buy basically every pumpkin in the store. We get weird looks, lots of questions and we usually take some pictures, because instagram. We get out to our location when it’s still dark outside and start unloading all the pumpkins. As the light starts to creep over the horizon we arrange them and take lots of shots of Lauren sitting in the pumpkins like a little kid would to see how it’s looking. I’m sure she hates that part.
When the kids arrive, we shoot every 10 -15 minutes. It’s fast and furious and I don’t need any more time that that. I work fast, I move fast, kids lost interest fast, it just works.
