This is a really cool family that came all the way from Midland for their newborn session! Um, flattering! The mom is drop dead gorgeous. Photographing her was just as fun as photographing the baby was!
The requested some black, which was nice since I rarely get to throw that color in with newborn set ups.
If you find yourself in the middle of a newborn session with a baby that won’t sleep. Embrace it for a few minutes! I wrap ’em up and take some shots from above and really try to get eye contact with the camera. Parents love the awake shots if the baby still looks content.

The dad is really into photography, so it’s fun talking to him about all things nikon. At one of their sessions I realized he had a better and far more expensive camera body than I did! HAHA! I felt a smidge or gear envy for sure. I have since upgraded to the Nikon D4s in case anyone cares.
