Well, well, well, look who it is again! Miss Emerson is so special that she had 2, yes TWO newborn sessions! Her mom and dad really wanted the studio newborn portraits that I specialize in, but also wanted some lifestyle photos of the three of them together at home. For those of you who know about photography, the old lifestyle sessions can be a bit tricky. You don’t know what you are going to get as far as colors, what the light situation will be, it feels sort of out of control. In my studio I can control the light, I can control the colors, and in most cases I can control the baby and get them into all sorts of adorable and squishy poses. But that’s not what a lifestyle shoot is all about. A lifestyle shoot is capturing the family as they are, no flat fingers, perfectly closed eyes and baby bodies posed to show off those perfect rolls, it’s more interacting with the baby, with each other. Getting those special moments of what the baby’s first few weeks at home looked like. It’s like a peek into someone’s window. In the most non creep-o way, of course. Hopefully.
So I got pretty lucky with this house. Or let’s say mansion. This was the grandparents enormous Plano home and although there wasn’t tons of natural light streaming in, we had like 50 rooms to choose from.
And to any future mamas who want this type of session, I don’t bring any cute props or headbands or anything to these lifestyle shoots. It’s just the baby at home, simple and nice. If you want the whole posed newborn production with all my goodies you have to come to me. Or you could be awesome like these fine folks and book two newborn sessions. Just a thought. 🙂
