We offer a handful of mini sessions a year. Usually it’s Valentine’s day in the studio, bluebonnets (our most popular by a mile, we ended up having to open up like 3 extra days last year), Halloween costumes for fall and then a studio family mini for Christmas cards.
For the Halloween costume session there were two choices, in the studio or outside. I really wanted to create a pumpkin patch feel, so Lauren and I went to trader joes, bought an obnoxious amount of pumpkins, woke up at the crack of dawn, made many trips wheeling pumpkins from the car way down into my location I like, and set them up about three times until they looked just right in just the right light.
Pottery Barn kids got ahold of this image of Eli in his PB elephant costume and they shared it all over their social media. Pretty cool! All the costumes were precious, we even had one client who just wanted to bring her daughter in normal clothes, and that’s perfectly fine too!
These are my three beautiful daughters! I made my poor husband wake up early, get them all dressed in their costumes and meet me out there. He is a great sport. Girl dads get pretty good at dressing their daughters, but costumes with all the accessories and pieces is a different kind of hard. And now this picture is one of my favorites!! Kylie (little bo peep) has a big 12×12 of this in her room.
