Baby Ella came in to the studio plump and perfect! Mom had requested pinks and grays and some neutral tones as well. I often get asked what people need to bring to the newborn shoot. The answer is: a newborn. I have spent years collecting my props that I use for newborn set ups and also like to stay ahead of the curve with color and pattern trends as well as keep tons of neutrals and props for simple set ups for a completely timeless look. I buy stuff weekly for newborn shoots, my husband gets irritated. OOPS!
This first set up is very meaningful. Ella’s mom and dad enjoy playing golf together and this golf ball was no ordinary one. Printed on the ball says “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
She said yes, and here is sweet Ella with that special golf ball.
We do macro shots of baby details at every newborn session. My favorite is almost always the feet.
But at this session, I think it was those tiny hands!! Her hands were so relaxed, that I could put her fingers like this. So cute!
I always love to do a fun backdrop in at least one shot. This helps it look like such a fun piece of art that would look great hung in a playroom, baby’s room or even a great accent in a guest or kid’s bathroom.
One of the only times I like all white, with a newborn. It is a good clean look.
Some pictures need to have no bow, no hat, just a plain baby with nothing to distract from that sweet face.
I can’t handle the chunky cheeks!! SQUEEZE!
I am loving these swaddle sacks, they take the regular wrapped shots and dress them up a little. The texture is great and the little tie is so sweet.
